Words from the Pastor
As 2026 is upon us, the year of Divine Design, has had its difficulties, but through it all God has been faithful. As the new Presidential Administration came to power, so did the challenges to the body. Some lost their jobs, while others lost their funding and wondered if they would continue to have jobs, but thus far God has been good to us. In this time of tariffs, shutdowns, funding shortfalls, and division along racial, economic, and even religious lines, The Lord has kept us and guided us through every situation.
There was a time where you could trust that systems of government would be there, a time when government had more stability and dependability. However, during this time, government is unstable as it's ever been. No longer can we trust in the financial system, the healthcare system, the educational system, the labor system, and no doubt the justice system.
These institutions have failed us and guarantee us nothing but pain and disappointment. Thus, in 2026 our theme will be Unwavering Trust, and this theme was birthed from Habakkuk (3:17-19) which says “Although the tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”
Long before Habakkuk could rejoice in the Lord, in the midst of potential starvation and tremendous loss of resources he trusted in the source without wavering, that source being the Lord God Almighty!! Our trust must be in Christ Jesus, and it must be unwavering, it must be absolute, it must leave no doubt as to what and who we trust. As one of our members said almost a year ago, “we must trust God, no matter what.”
In the time that we live in now, God has positioned the Church to do just that, trust Him without wavering because what we thought would always be there, is no longer the case. The church must coalesce around Christ and trust Him like never before and work together.
With that said, the state of the ministry is steady. We are firm in our position, we are stable in our leadership, and we have resolved to move forward as a team with a mind to serve Christ. The ministry is only as steady as the leadership, so the leadership really does have to be unified. Steady is good, for the Apostle Paul said in (1 Cor. 15:58) “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord”.
May God continue to keep us as one,
Senior Pastor Versal L. Mason, Jr.
